Founder and President

Vinnie Tran is a Founder and the President of DirectViz Solutions, LLC. He is the key decision maker, ensuring that DVS stays focused on the goal of delivering efficient, quality, and cost-effective solutions to Department of Defense and federal civilian agency customers.

Launched from Vinnie’s home in August 2012, DVS has grown into a company of over 500 employees, with contracts in 18 states across the United States and abroad. Vinnie received the Future 50 Award from SmartCEO Magazine for two consecutive years (2015 and 2016). Under Vinnie’s leadership, DVS reached a $93M annual revenue. In 2020, he passed the torch to new Chief Executive Officer, Michael McHugh. “DVS is committed to quality and exceptional performance of service delivery in all aspects of the work we perform for our customers,” said Vinnie. “Our success is a reflection of the hard work of our employees and DVS’ constant commitment to align our services with customer requirements to provide quality software engineering and products."

Vinnie was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1984. He earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at University of California, Irvine. After college, Vinnie joined the United States Army, where he served for over eight years until his honorable discharge. Following his military service, Vinnie began to work in government contracting, spending the next two decades providing technical and consulting services to the Department of Defense and Federal civilian agencies. He also has earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern Indiana.

Vinnie involves DVS in volunteer activities, most recently a five kilometer race to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and a golf open to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He offers internships to develop young talent and help recent graduates get started in the workforce. He supports needy children, such as those served by the Vietnam Humanitarian Foundation. Vinnie has been appointed a member of the American Leadership Empowerment and Development for Youth and Families.
