Felipe Palhano has been announced as Vice President of Solutions Architecture

Chief Growth Officer of DirectViz Solutions, LLC (DVS), Mr. Herman Hewitt, Jr., has announced the appointment of Mr. Palhano as DVS’s Vice President of Solutions Architecture, effective immediately. As part of his support to DVS’s growth team, he will help grow our existing customers and realize new opportunities and capabilities.
Mr. Palhano success will drive growth of our innovative solutions and make an impact on the broader strategic goals for DVS. His new role supports DVS’ transition from a small business into a large systems integrator.
Mr. Palhano will lead DVS’ Center of Excellence, technical strategy, and solutioning for strategic bids with his new team of solution architects and technical specialists.
He will focus on building on DVS’ solid technical foundation by maturing their solutions strategy and discipline, identifying and leveraging emerging technologies, increasing technical corporate reach back capabilities, and fostering greater technical collaboration across programs to provide even greater value to our customers.
Coming from CACI, Mr. Palhano most recently served as a principal Systems and Solutions architect for the BITS solution group. He has significant experience in proposal development, overall solutions architecture, and technical thought leadership and strategy, having worked and lead solutioning for contract bids exceeding $750 million in total contract value and multiple internal research and development projects to expand CACI’s repeatable solution set.
In prior roles he focused on technology implementation and architecture, leading teams on technology migration, modernization, and innovation projects. His experience with both larger, more structured and smaller, more agile businesses provides a unique skillset tailored to successfully transition DVS as it graduates from its small business status.
Michael McHugh has now been appointed DVS’ new CEO

Mr. Vinnie Tran, president and chairman of the Board of Directors for DVS, made the announcement on Friday that Mr. Michael McHugh, formerly the company’s chief operating officer, has now been appointed DVS’ new CEO, effective immediately.
“I looked for the type of leadership we would need for our next phase of growth – bringing both experience and focus to the company,” said Tran. “So, today, I am very excited to announce that Mr. Michael McHugh will be filling this critical role as DVS’ new chief executive officer as we move to the next level,” he added.
Mr. McHugh has more than 25 years of experience in customer-centric technology companies. His record and influence over the company’s growth was demonstrated over his first year with DirectViz, as he led DVS to make major improvements in its customer satisfaction scores and he helped generate a growth rate of 100 percent during his first year.
Mr. McHugh’s extensive experience will now help DirectViz maintain a strong growth rate trajectory as the company transitions from the small business program into the challenging new landscape of larger business in the federal sector.
Prior to his tenure with DVS, Mr. McHugh served as president of Defense and the National Security Division for Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) for more than a decade. He also was the senior vice president of Butler Technology Solutions from Apr. 1998 to Feb. 2003 and became the vice president of BAE Systems’ Defense Group from Nov. 2004 through July 2007.
In addition, Mr. McHugh was senior vice president of Butler International between Jan. 2008 and Mar. 2009 as well as president of MercuryZ from Mar. 2009 until he joined DMI in Jan. 2010.
DVS now has over 500 full time employees, and continues to grow and improve its position itself as an industry leader. DVS has become one of the industry’s fastest growing companies, according to Inc. Chuck Thompson has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Chuck Thompson, formerly Executive Vice President of Operations at DVS, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer at the Chantilly, Va.-based information technology engineering and professional services company.
He succeeds Mr. Michael McHugh, who took the helm of DVS as its chief executive, and brings more than three decades of management experience to his new position.
Mr. Thompson previously spent more than 12 years at Digital Management Inc., where his most recent role was executive vice president of the mobile technology firm's defense and homeland security division, and served as a senior director at BAE Systems' U.S. subsidiary.
Herman Hewitt, Jr., has been appointed as the new Chief Growth Officer.

Mr. Hewitt has most recently served as Senior Vice President at Kingfisher Systems, Inc., and previously was Senior Vice President of Business Development for over 10 years at MetroStar Systems.
Mr. Hewitt has extensive experience in U.S. Government contracting and will lead DVS’ growth strategy, revenue goals, and sustainable initiatives.

DVS has been awarded a prime contract on the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-3 Services (ITES-3S) vehicle Small Business track. ITES-3S is anticipated to serve as the preferred source of Information Technology (IT) service support for the U.S. Army, other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and all other Federal agencies globally.
ITES-3S is managed by the U.S. Army’s Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) program. It is a Multiple-Award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (MA - ID/IQ) hybrid contract (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and Time and Materials (T&M)) with a total ceiling value of $12.1 billion across the five-year base period and four one-year option periods. DVS is proud to be awarded a five year contract to support the Information Technology and Communication Services (ITACS) Department at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) located in Monterey, California.
This award was the first Task Order released under our Naval Higher Education Information Technology Consortium (NHEITC) contract vehicle,
and DVS was fortunate enough to win this technical Database Support Services effort, increasing our existing IT support portfolio of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) area.
The ITACS departments provides support and services for all IT and telecommunication issues for the NPS community. Our specific IT support on this effort involves Database Administration support and the implementation of Enterprise database platforms (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL).
DVS is excited for this effort and its emphasis on Naval Higher Education operations.

DVS was awarded a five year contract to provide high quality information technology engineering, development, integration, deployment, and system sustainment services supporting the Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS).
The iPERMS Army program supports the DoD strategy for the use of net-centric automated information systems by providing an automated method of maintaining the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for Active Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard Soldiers.
iPERMS is the system of record and storage for the OMPF during the Soldier’s active service and is the Records Management Application (RMA) for future systems, supporting over 200 million OMPF documents currently and over 7.1M Army soldier records.

This five year effort provides on-site program management and database management support of the critical TOPS Naval application.
Since original implementation, the TOPS application has reduced the personal and pay information theft of Navy personnel transaction data by 75%.
DVS is very excited to increase our DoD financial application and database support efforts, with a special emphasis on Naval operations.

The JSP provides a full range of information technology products, services, solutions and customer support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) and the Joint Staff (JS),
the Director of Administration (DA), the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) and other various OSD offices to meet mission and business requirements.

This five year effort provides on-site support and maintenance of Tier 1 & Tier 2 operations to ensure functionality of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Information Technology Service Division (ITSD) for the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS).
Our IT support on this effort will support over 400 local NAPS clients with the full range of IT Client Services, to include IT hardware/software installation, maintenance, repair, documentation, recordkeeping, and inventory tasks.
DVS is proud to increase our United States Naval Academy support footprint, to include users within the USNA ITSD support pool of approximately 7,000 midshipmen, faculty and staff in an integrated network-centric environment.

DVS has been awarded the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) Configuration Management (CM) contract supporting the Air Force’s 844TH Communications Group out of Andrews Air Force Base (AFB), MD.
This two and a half year effort has a current value of over $1M and is constructed to advise and assist the customer in the development of a comprehensive Configuration Management program.
DVS’ Configuration Management (CM) team will oversee the Enterprise Architecture and Lifecycle Management of Information Technology (IT) assets.
Our responsibilities include the definition and execution of IT policies and standards, IT project management and supporting tools, defining and maintaining the organization’s Enterprise Architecture,
Configuration Management Plan/Processes and implementation of common IT services which fit into DOD’s long term goals as we move toward a Joint Infrastructure Environment (JIE).
DVS is thrilled for this opportunity to expand our existing Air Force portfolio, which currently includes support efforts at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO and the Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB) Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in California.

This five year effort provides Information Technology Support Service (ITSS) requirements to our customer base, specifically supporting Defense Resources Management Institute (DRMI) Systems, mobile computing systems, software, hardware, passwords, and communications systems.
DVS is extremely pleased and excited to grow our Monterey-based operations with the inclusion of this Naval effort, along with our ongoing ITSS contract support of the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC).
